A hero of the faith who encourages me to pursue the Lord through His Word is Puritan Pastor Jonathan Edwards. Jonathan Edwards was born on October 5, 1703, the son of Esther and Timothy Edwards who served as a minister in Connecticut.
With extraordinary devotion for Christ and the love of God’s people, Charles Simeon faithfully preached in the same church for 54 years. His commitment and patient endurance through great opposition is a model we should look to emulate.

As we continue to faithfully seek Him day-by-day, week-by-week, and month-by-month, let us not grow weary and like Hudson Taylor be strong and courageous remembering the Lord our God goes with us and He will never leave or forsake us.
Each time God starts a great thing, He does not turn His face from it to let it run on its own steam. You have probably experienced the same. The Great Shepherd raises up faithful leaders to keep a great work going, and that is exactly what He did with IFLC.
John Wycliffe is often called the great-grandfather of the Reformation, who planted the seeds for John Huss and Martin Luther. He was a brave man during a tumultuous time and obeyed God’s call, speaking the truth regardless of the outcome.
Lloyd-Jones wrote, “I preached the messages to the people in the hope that they might help them, and strengthen their faith, in the critical days through which we are passing.” He is known for his deep commitment to Bible exposition.
Haven’t we all looked at our lives at times and thought, “Can anything be made of this mess?” On the outside, at least, life at times looks bleak and chaotic. It often looked that way to people in the Bible.
For over 50 years, H.A. Ironside preached the Word of God in the United States and around the world and wrote more than 80 books, 51 of which were expositions on books of the Bible.
