We are incurably curious about the spiritual realm. Although our imaginations tend to overrun truth don’t ever doubt the presence of angels, for they are about us and above us. And, who knows, maybe even within one or two of us.
I believe one reason we fail to exercise grace in our relationships is because we don’t view people as they actually are. Instead, we look at them through the lens of how they hurt us, or our prejudices, or past experiences.
Remember the first time you lived alone? What did you draw on in your mind first thing in the morning? It was probably some instruction or encouragement you remembered from your parents. You learn your first lessons from your family—they see through the fog.
Calm evenings can turn quickly into stormy nights. What starts calmly as the beginning of a new school year can lead into storms of struggling to continue. No one is immune to these life surprises so make sure you’re anchored to the One who can come the storm.
If you’re feeling discouraged instead of letting your circumstances feed your fear, focus on the Lord and trust, pray, and praise. Your circumstances may not change but through this process you will.
With every pleasure are hidden responsibilities. And sometimes with great pleasures, like being a mother, the responsibilities are also greater.
