A healthy attitude toward ourselves is necessary before there can be a healthy attitude toward others...which attracts them as friends.
People who conduct their lives according to such thinking are called smart. They haven't a fraction of tolerance for the supernatural. To them it is sloppy to think in terms of the unexplainable, the "miraculous."
You know something? That still, small voice will never shout. God's methods don't change because we are so noisy and busy. He is longing for your attention, your undivided and full attention.
Instead of accepting the fact that no one deserves the right to lead without first persevering through pain and heartache and failure, we resent those intruders. We treat them as enemies, not friends. We forget that the marks of greatness are not delivered in a paper sack by capricious gods.
Two ears. Two eyes. Only one mouth. Maybe that should tell us something. I challenge you to join me in becoming a better listener. With your mate. Your friends. Your kids. Your boss. Your teacher. Your pupils. Your clients. Your fellow Christians as well as those who need to meet Christ.
God's Word is filled with exhortations to implant His truth in our hearts.
Let’s launch into the remainder of this week with an intense interest in quality control. Let’s move out of thick ranks of the mediocre…and join the thin ranks of excellence.
Critics have denied it. Cynics have laughed at it. Scholars have ignored it. Liberal theologians have explained it away (they call that “rethinking” it), and fanatics have perverted it.
Up-front heroes are often seen as being larger than life. Overstated. That’s unfortunate. Hidden heroes are often seen as being smaller than life. Underrated. That’s most unfortunate.
I am born to fight against innumerable monsters and devils. I must remove stumps and stones, cut away thistles and thorns, and clear the wild forest.
