If you have the opportunity, take a course at a nearby Bible school, Christian college, or seminary. Or perhaps your church offers some in-depth study electives. You will gain a broader base of knowledge, a wider scope of awareness, and a deeper commitment to truth.
Why should we be willing to drop everything and follow Jesus Christ? And what happens when we do?
Can you think of instances in your own life, with the advantage of 20/20 hindsight, wherein someone or something meant evil against you, "but God meant it for good"? Thank and praise Him for it—and for His continual providence.
Is your life full of appointments, activities, hassles, and hurry? Are you finding all your security in your work...your own achievements? What is your "everything"?
Even when we don't earn the right to be appreciated we can still be encouraged and affirmed. Encourage someone today!
Like you, I have my favourite hymns—the ones that hold some special meaning for me or evoke grand and vivid memories of significant events. Invariably, those things pass in mental review as I become "lost in wonder, love, and praise" in my worship.
We cannot substitute outer garb for inner godliness.
To all who feel overwhelmed or who are tempted to take a much too critical look at their lives and feel insignificant...take heart! Do what you can!
Ignore the odds. Even though you cannot do everything, you can do something. You may be only one, but you can still make a difference. So make a difference.
Remember, the things impossible with men are possible with God.
