A commendable father will be quick to love and slow to be angry. He will be eager to learn from his mistakes, and he will look to the example of other, more experienced fathers in order to grow.

Jesus’ parable preserved in Luke 15:11–24 tells of a most exemplary father—one who wisely dealt with his straying son and who reflects the heart of the heavenly Father.
