There’s no sense in allowing the guilt of your past to haunt you long into the future. Make that right with the Lord, and ask forgiveness of anyone you feel you’ve wronged.
Our secret language calls for a decoding process they aren’t equipped to handle. How much better to talk in plain, concrete, authentic terms, as the Spirit of God works to complete the task!
God stretched out the heavens and put the myriad of stars and planets and infinite galaxies in place with His fingers! No sweeping, jolting motions of the Godhead swaying and pushing unbounded segments of the universe into place to the point that when He was finished He sat back sweating and exhausted, His chest pounding, gasping for breath.
You can opt for an easier path, sure. You can keep your own record and stay tucked away in the cedar chest of sweet dreams. Or you can get back into circulation, volunteering to be part of God’s rugged rescue team, retrieving victims from the leaping flames. It’s your decision.
No one is immune to the perils of foolish lust. Whether by savage assault or subtle suggestion, the minds of a wide range of people are vulnerable to its attack. Lust’s alluring voice can infiltrate the most intelligent mind and cause its victim to believe its lies and yield to its sultry appeal.
Job understood wounds. The words he used to describe them were more than patronizing platitudes and theoretical proverbs. He’d been there and back again. He could write about intense inner suffering in the first person because of his own massive ocean of pain.
We absolutely cannot get this wrong when we live in full surrender to the Holy Spirit—that means humbly bringing our lives, attitudes, calendars, and everything else before Him and asking for His perspective.
Wisdom comes privately from God as a by-product of right decisions, godly reactions, and a daily devotion to searching the wonderful riches of the Scriptures. Wisdom is the fruit of a disciplined life.
Remember those in prison, as if you were there yourself. Remember also those being mistreated, as if you felt their pain in your own bodies. (Hebrews 13:3)
