Weekday Worship
If you’ve been around God’s people for long enough, you’ll know that serving and worshipping God can take many forms. From the people singing on stage, to those adjusting the frequencies of their microphones, all are worshipping God with their capabilities and effort. The same goes here at Insight for Living Canada. Our team has a wide range of job responsibilities, but each role ultimately has the same purpose: serving God by sharing His Word across Canada.
If you’ve visited our website recently, you may have been greeted by a banner letting you know that our skilled IT team has been doing some updates. No one except the behind-the-scenes workers themselves will ever fully know the tireless dedication, intricate work, and countless hours that went into the website update. Even now, they continue working diligently to ensure that every visit to the website is as seamless as possible and that our Bible resources remain readily available.
Though much of this behind-the-scenes work will go largely unrecognized, it is still an act of service to the Lord. No matter the nature of the work, when it is done well and offered unto the Lord, it can be an act of worship.
Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ. (Colossians 3:23)
So, worship of the Lord is not limited to Sunday morning praise. In His mercy, God gives us countless opportunities to bless His name through our day-to-day endeavours. Whatever your God-given abilities, they can be used dutifully to the Kingdom of God. Just like our IT team, who have spent countless hours working through endless lines of code and refining the website, we can all use our abilities for God’s glory and the benefit of His people.
Perhaps the question for each of us is this: In what ways is God calling you to use the gifts and abilities He has given you to serve and worship Him?
