One of the central objectives of Insight for Living Canada is to help you understand and apply God’s Word to your life. And for the past 32 years we have achieved this by broadcasting our Bible-teaching messages into Canadian homes through media.

If it has been invented, we have used it to communicate the truth of God’s Word. We even use social media to achieve our objectives.

Social media is a tool like any other media. How you use social media determines your experience—it can be a time of encouragement or a huge waste of time. The Apostle Paul wrote, “’I have the right to do anything,’ you say—but not everything is beneficial. ‘I have the right to do anything’—but not everything is constructive,” (1 Corinthians 10:23 NIV). For believers, social media can be a great tool for doing what is beneficial and constructive.

Here are two ways we’re providing encouraging and trustworthy information through social media.

Last year we launched a private Facebook prayer group to develop deep and meaningful connections while supporting one another in prayer. This community of prayer warriors has become a place where people share prayer requests, encourage one another, and praise God for His sovereign hand on our lives. With more than 250 members this is a unique place to connect with other believers.

This summer we created a Pinterest profile, highlighting some of our most popular topical resources. We know Pinterest has an incredible reach and may introduce people to the ministry who haven’t yet had the opportunity to hear our transformative Bible-teaching program.

Using social media is just one more way we’re working towards achieving our vision of distributing one million Bible-teaching resources to Canadians by 2020.
