Dear friends,
Last week, I wrote and asked you How would you respond if one day, amid the coupons and advertising in your mailbox, you found a handwritten invitation, addressed to you personally, signed by Jesus, and inviting you to join Him in ministry?
It’s kind of mind-boggling to imagine but before I go further with that thought let me back up a bit.
Inviting people to join Him in ministry is exactly what Jesus did. He invited His disciples to follow Him and to minister with Him. He said, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” (Matthew 4:19) and promised them they would do even greater work than He was doing (John 14:12).
Jesus stated His goal when He said, “I will build my church…” (Matthew 16:18) and throughout the gospels we see Jesus doing that and ministering with His disciples. But then He was then crucified, buried, and that was the end of His ministry, right? Wrong!
The Bible tells us Jesus rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and in the book of Acts we read what Luke wrote about his gospel, “In my first book I told you, Theophilus, about everything Jesus began to do and teach…” (Acts 1:1, emphasis added).
Jesus is alive and is still building His church! And we have the wonderful opportunity of being co-workers with Christ as He builds!
This is your invitation to be involved, or continue to be involved in the work the Lord is doing through Insight for Living Canada building His church in this country.
Every week Insight for Living programs air 2,000 times across this country. On top of that thousands of people stream the programs online or on mobile devices, read our devotional emails, and purchase books and CDs. The Word of God is getting out to Canadians. Jesus is building His church and lives are being changed.
I am continually reminded by the phone calls, emails, and letters that Insight for Living Canada is in a spiritual partnership with God and with people like you.
What we do—on the air, in print, and online—is sowing the seed of the Word of God. We can’t do that without you standing with us. And when we do sow the seed together it is God who mysteriously and miraculously causes it to grow and bear the fruit of a changed life.
Isn’t it marvellous and exciting to be invited by the Lord to participate in this work together with Him?
As we close out 2019 and move into 2020 we are trusting the Lord to help us raise $450,000 so we can continue providing Canadians with the tools they need to not only read God’s Word but also absorb and apply it to their lives.
Please continue partnering with us in planting the seed of God’s Word in the Lord’s ongoing work of building His church.
Your co-labourer in Christ,
Steve Johnson
Executive Director
