A warning is in order: there are those in this world who do not want you to enjoy and live in your freedom. In Paul’s day, they were called Judaizers—people who sought to make obedience to the Mosaic Law a requirement for salvation. We know these people today as legalists. They desire to sap the joy from the Christian life and to hold others under their thumbs. However, Jesus has provided us a faith which frees us from the bonds of sin and frees us for the purpose of following Him. Let’s take a closer look at Paul’s exhortation that we stand firm in our freedom.
