The Friday before the Jewish Passover Sabbath was a dark day for the followers of Jesus. As their Messiah hung on humankind's most dreadful instrument of death, ten of the 11 remaining disciples scattered and hid themselves—only John remained. The task of burying Jesus fell to two secret followers who dared to come out of the shadows and to a handful of faithful women. But the story of Jesus doesn‘t end with the cross or even the grave in which He was laid. He is risen! He overcame death and continues to live.
