Perhaps no name in history is more synonymous with traitor than the name “Judas.” Judas enjoyed the advantages of a close association with the Lord as one of His twelve select men. Judas was mentored, empowered, and groomed for leadership. He saw Jesus’ miracles and heard His teaching. Judas was even entrusted with the management of the group’s money. Nevertheless, unresolved, secret sin revealed the inner Judas as a very different man than the one his friends knew. Even so, Jesus wasn't fooled.
The story of Judas teaches us that no one is immune to the insidious, corrosive power of secret sin.
