Dear friend,

I remember huddling with my siblings on the floor around my mother’s kitchen chair as she sat leading us in prayer before we went to bed. Even though my dad was a pastor, it was my mother who personally nurtured us in our early steps of faith.

As a young man I lived for a while with my grandma after my grandpa died. And I remember her sitting at her kitchen table listening to radio programs like Insight for Living, following along with her study materials, and soaking up God’s Word. One night I overheard her praying aloud for me and each of her other grandchildren. She prayed that we would know and follow the Lord. Reflecting on her walk with God still influences me today.

It is understandable then why I relate to Timothy, whose mother and grandmother were major influences in his faith and ministry. Paul wrote him saying, “I remember your genuine faith, for you share the faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother, Eunice. And I know that same faith continues strong in you” (2 Timothy 1:5).

Because many of you who support Insight for Living Canada are mothers and because you exercise great influence in the lives of your families, I believe it is crucial for you to hear and understand God’s Word so your influence will be godly.

Insight for Living Canada is here to proclaim God’s Word so that mothers and others can be a godly influence on their families and those around them. It is also why we need your prayer and financial support.

There are two ways you can have a part in influencing the influencers. The first way is by committing to pray regularly for Chuck Swindoll and Insight for Living Canada. The second way is by committing to give regularly to support this work.

Something I love hearing is when one of our listeners says to me, “I grew up listening to Chuck as my mom listened to Insight for Living on the radio. And now my children are hearing Chuck as I listen to him.” Maybe that is your story too.

This is a perfect illustration of the influence a mother has on her children. It also demonstrates how supporting Insight for Living Canada through your prayer and financial gifts makes an impact.
